We rolled into the tiny tranquil town of Coffin Bay and decided to make it our home-base for the next 5 nights. This carefree bay looks and feels like the holiday-town from your childhood.
We enjoyed the Oyster Walk that winds around the many sheltered coves and up to the lookout. We also explored the Coffin Bay National Park which is known for its remote coastal scenery.
We drove to Port Lincoln and set out on a tour to Swim with the Sea Lions. I was apprehensive about the 90 minute boat ride through the waters of the Great Australian Bight to Seal Cove however once we arrived I could not wait to dive into the water.

Thumbs up👍
A must do in Coffin Bay is to eat the Coffin Bay Oysters on the Oyster Farm Tour, even if you don’t like oysters.🥴 We pulled on waders (that looked ridiculous – see photos as evidence) and waded out to a bar immersed in water. Then we drank wine and sampled oysters whilst learning about the oyster industry.

We also enjoyed the most delicious meal so far at 1802 Oyster Bar. The wine, food, service and sunset were all superb.😋

Go big or go home could be the motto for the Coffin Bay fishing enthusiasts.😆 Huge tractors are used to launch boats at the boat ramp.
