Monkey Mia (WA)

Monkey Mia is a UNESCO World Heritage landmark and forms part of the greater Shark Bay region. We stayed at the Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort so we could get up close and personal with wild bottlenose dolphins.

The resort is ‘absolute’ beachfront and on a sunny day the water is a vibrant blue.💙

I’m like a little kid when it comes to dolphins. I had a smile on my face for the entire day after our encounter, and I’m not sure why they bring this reaction out of me. Perhaps I love the seemingly relaxed state of these beautiful creatures and that knowing wink they give you as they swim by.🐬

We drove about 20 minutes to the picturesque but busy town of Denham and walked along the foreshore.

The photos below show the resort boundaries and where we are situated in Australia.

Again, the weather turned and we copped some howling winds especially during the night. In conclusion, I would say we were blown away by Shark Bay… literally.😄
